A month for health and a good cause: NUM GmbH relies on "Motorless to Work"

In June, the parking lot of NUM GmbH in Holzmaden was unusually quiet: there were hardly any cars or motorcycles belonging to employees to be seen, but there was a large number of bicycles. The reason for this was the team's participation around Managing Director of NUM GmbH Christian Unger in the "Motorless to Work" campaign. For one month, the employees refrained from using motorized means of transport and instead went to work on foot or by bicycle.

The aim of this campaign was to make employees' everyday working lives healthier and to raise awareness of sustainable mobility through more exercise.

The idea of competition provided an additional incentive: participants collected points for every kilometer covered without a motor, which was recorded in an internal ranking list. But the real motivation was charity: the points collected were converted into a donation for the domestic children's and youth hospice service in Kirchheim. In total, the employees covered an impressive 2442 kilometers, which made a donation of €1,000 possible. Last week, Christian Unger and his team presented the donation to Miriam Wanisch, the head of the hospice service. Unger emphasized: "The domestic children and youth hospice service provides invaluable support for families in difficult times. With our donation, we want to recognize and support this important work."

The children's and young people's hospice service not only accompanies children with life-threatening or life-shortening illnesses but also their family members to support them in difficult times. Especially in its 25th anniversary year, this donation shows valuable recognition for the work of the service.

Christian Unger summarizes: "The annual campaign makes us grateful for our health, motivates us to look after it more consciously, and at the same time enables us to support people who are currently not doing so well." NUM GmbH is proud of its employees' commitment and is already looking forward to continuing the campaign next year.
